What is the Third Side?

360-degree intelligence requires analyzing a problem from all angles, not just your client’s and your opponent’s perspective.

The third side is everything else in the environment that can affect your case and your practice. Examples include:

  • Media: Do you have a high visibility case or client? How are you controlling your messaging? We can analyze how your case is being covered and make recommendations.
  • Reputation: Getting the facts you need for your case is important but not at the risk of your firm’s reputation. Sometimes actions that are legal and ethical can result in negative publicity. We conduct a continuous risk analysis on our collection plans to reduce the possibility of blowback.
  • Third parties: Your client or case may draw the attention of a wide variety of actors, from activist groups, criminal networks, law enforcement, and sometimes even foreign intelligence services. We keep an eye out for those who might be monitoring you.

Planning an effective strategy requires more than “just the facts.” When winning is everything and anything is possible, you need 360-degree intelligence!
